Veterans Section

Hello and Welcome to the Veterans’ Section of the BGC Website.
Are you old, grumpy and forgetful? If you can answer yes to the four preceding questions then the Veterans’ Section is for you.
Seriously though if you are aged 60 or over you are welcome to join us. The Vets Section meets every Tuesday morning. We play at least 2 competitive rounds of golf a month off the white tees during the playing season and the competitive golf continues throughout the winter months.
We were one of the founding members of the Society of Kent Veteran Golfers and each year we enter their knockout competition. We also compete in Division 1 where we play home and away league matches against Dartford, Eltham Warren, Lullingstone, Shooters Hill and Sidcup Golf Clubs. In addition we play home and away annual friendly matches against Cray Valley and Fawkham Valley Golf Clubs.
We have an ‘invitation day’ where you can invite a friend to come and play with us followed by prizes and an enjoyable lunch. If you don’t have any friends one will be provided for you.
Golf is very important to us but meeting friends, old and new, and having fun is equally important. With this in mind you would be encouraged to join us together with your partner at our annual gala evening, an extravaganza of fine food and cabaret.
Don’t panic if you are not yet 60. We have a Junior Section where golfers as young as 55 have played with us but we will need a letter of introduction from your parents. As a bonus you will get up to 5 years free mentoring in the art of being a grumpy old git. Terms and Conditions apply.
Below is our schedule for 2012. Please take a look and see what has been planned so you can make a note in your diary.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any comments or suggestions we would be happy to hear from you. Please get in touch with Julie, Club Manager/Secretary who will arrange for you to come and meet us.
